Eric Nathan’s (b. 1983) music has been performed in the United States and abroad at music festivals including Tanglewood, Aspen Music Festival, Ravinia Festival Steans Institute, Aldeburgh Music Festival (UK), World Music Days, Yellow Barn, as well as at the Louvre Museum, and Carnegie Hall. He has been commissioned by the New York Philharmonic for premiere at the Philharmonic’s 2014 Biennial, by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Tanglewood Music Center, Momenta Quartet, New York Youth Symphony, and for the Berlin Philharmonic’s Scharoun Ensemble. Nathan is a recipient of a 2014 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship, ASCAP Foundation Rudolf Nissim Prize, four ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, BMI William Schuman Prize, Jacob Druckman Prize from the Aspen Music Festival, Leonard Bernstein Fellowship to the Tanglewood Music Center and American Academy of Arts and Letters Charles Ives Scholarship. Nathan served as Composer-in-Residence at the Chelsea Music Festival (New York) and Chamber Music Campania (Italy). He begins his appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor in Composition at the Williams College Department of Music in fall 2014.
