Filippo Perocco studied composition and organ, as well as conducting. He participated in the Ferienkurse von neue Musik Darmstadt and was composer in residence at the E.C.A. (2006) and on a Fulbright fellowship in 2010. Filippo Perocco’s works have been commissioned by the Venice Biennale, ENPARTS von Musik der Jahrhunderte, Incontri Asolani, Settimane musicali, Finestre sul ‘900, Divertimento, ExNovoMusica, Brighton Festival, Kaida, VNM Berlin, Astra, Altri Canti, Brinkhall Concert, and ECHO. His works have been performed by Holland Symphonia, Dresdner Sinfonikern, Young Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lorraine, Filarmonia Veneta, Orchestra d'Archi Italiana, ORT, Orchestra Mitteleuropa, Dresden Sinfonietta, Virtuosi ItalianiVocal Modern, Ixion, Aleph, Argento, Knights, Accroche, Algoritmo and COROinCANTO. His compositions have been premiered in festivals such as the Venice Biennale, Gaudeamus, Manca, Aspekte Salzburg, Time of Music, Acanthes, Warsaw Autumn, Musica Strasbourg, MATA, UND#, Spannungen, Incontri Asolani, Contemporanea Udine, Cantiere di Montepulciano, Italian Academy, BEAMS, Finestre sul ’900, Zèppelin, Axes, De IJsbreker, Tufts Composers New Music Festival, Rencontres Lunel, C. N. de la MúsicaMéxico, Rebus, New London Wind Festival, Boston Harp Festival, and the Review of Belgrade. As a conductor he has collaborated with Neue Vocalsolisten, EuropaChorAkademie, United Instruments of Lucilin, Mannheimer Schlagwerk, Argento, Venice Biennale, Mata, Brandeis and Northeastern University. He is founder and artistic director of L’Arsenale Ensemble.
