Experts agree, we are facing a food crisis. What will we eat when the world population hits 10 billion? Will Monsanto save us from starvation - or will it be the community agriculture movement? Will crickets become our protein of choice when meat becomes too expensive - and too destructive?

 
To answer and illustrate these questions, I did drawings in the Barilla pasta factory, drew information graphics explaining the manufacture of olive oil, and went behind the scenes at a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese farm.

Nicholas Blechman is an internationally recognized illustrator, designer and art director, based in New York. His award winning illustrations have appeared in a vast range publications, from the Harvard Business Review to The New Yorker. He is the Art Director of The New York Times Book Review. Since 1990, Blechman has published, edited, and designed the award winning political underground magazine NOZONE, featured in the Smithsonian Institution’s Design Triennial. His first children's book, "Night Light" will be released this Summer.
