Cynthia Madansky is a multi-disciplinary artist with a major concentration in film and video. Trained as a painter, Madansky also continues to pursue painting and drawing as an integral part of her practice. Madansky’s films have been shown as single-channel works and multi-channel installations at international venues including, the MoMa, NYC, The Istanbul Modern, SALT, Istanbul, Walker Art Museum,The Berlin Film Festival, Rotterdam Film Festival, Cinéma du Réel, Paris, Tehran Film Festival, The Toronto Film Festival and Homeworks, Beirut. She is the recipient of numerous grants including NYSCA, NYFA, Art Matters, and the Jerome Foundation. She studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art, The Cooper Union School of Art, The Whitney Independent Study Program and Rutgers University.
