Nancy Davenport was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and lives in New York. She is represented by Nicole Klagsbrun Gallery. Her work has been exhibited at a variety of venues including the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Le Locle (Suisse), the Liverpool Biennial, DHC/Art Fondation pour l’art Contemporain (Montréal), the Istanbul Biennial, the Bienal de Sao Paulo, the First Triennial of Photography & Video at the International Center of Photography (NY) and the MIT List Arts Center. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including Artforum, October Magazine, Frieze, New York Times, Art in America, “Vitamin Ph: New Perspectives in Photography” (Phaidon Press) and “Still Moving: Between Cinema and Photography” (Duke UP). In 2009, she was the Henry Wolf Chair at Cooper Union NY and also teaches in the MFA programs at Bard NY, the School of Visual Arts NY and Yale University.
